Amboy Monthly Meeting met July 17, 2011, following a carry-in dinner. There were 27 members present. Clerk Michael Reynolds opened with a devotional entitled “The Cracked Pot.” We should allow God to use the flaws we feel we have as they may benefit others without our realizing it.
The June monthly meeting minutes and treasurer’s report were read and approved.
The pastor’s report focused not on numbers but on what we as a church family are working on to help the advancement of God’s kingdom. The report was approved.
There was no youth pastor’s report as Abby Walker is currently doing missions work in Australia. Please remember her in prayer during the next six months.
A year-end report was presented by Christian Education. The Missions Committee year-end report will be shared in August.
New Business
Ministry and Oversight recommended the approval of new members Holly Johnson and Aislinn Johnson. Both recommendations were approved.
The Personnel Committee named Donnie Bailey to the Missions Committee.
Ruth Hunt showed a recent quilt she made from material left in the USFW room. The meeting acknowledged appreciation for her single-handedly sewing the USFW quilts.
The next meeting will be August 21, 2011, following a carry-in meal.
