Ramallah Friends Boys School in Palestine is Friends United Meeting’s Ministry of the Month for September 2011. Ramallah Friends Boys School is a co-ed upper school for students in grades 7 through 12.

Joyce Ajlouny, director of the school, is looking forward to a visit in November from a team of educational experts from the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) in Switzerland. The team is coming to assess the school’s readiness to implement the IBO’s Middle Years Program (MYP) for grades 7 through 10, a program the school has been working on for the past five years. Ramallah Friends Boys School is already certified for the program in grades 11 and 12.

1. Pray for a smooth beginning of the school year and that all the students have a fun and productive year.
2. Pray for the seniors as they prepare for their International Baccalaureate exams and start the college application process.
3. Pray that the new teachers will adjust well and quickly feel part of the school’s family.
4. Pray for the smooth and quick implementation of the USAID/ASHA grant.
5. Pray for the successful culmination of the long-awaited commercial development project.
6. Pray for strength, wisdom, and satisfaction for the school’s principal, teachers, and staff as they lead their students through the education process.
7. Pray for the community surrounding the school and that peace will prevail in this troubled land.
