Meeting Minutes: October 2012

Amboy Friends Monthly Meeting met October 21, 2012, following a carry-in dinner. There were 25 members present.

Clerk Michael Reynolds opened with a devotional entitled “Redefining Christians.”

The September minutes and treasurer’s report were presented and approved.

Clerk Reynolds reported that our budget shortfall is now $13,432. Insurance and heat bills are still to be paid, so this shortfall is of great concern. Members questioned his calculations, so he will double check the figures and correct the amount next month if necessary. Hopefully, this is the case, but comments were made that God is bigger than our budget and faith should come into play when considering our finances.

Pastor Dwight Elliott’s report noted that we are into the 40 Days of Prayer with approximately 12 to 15 members participating. Upcoming activities include Trunk or Treat on Halloween night and Fall Impact at Quaker Haven with a Michael Card concert over the last weekend of October. A plea for participating trunks for Trunk or Treat was made so we can show our gift of presence and not just the gift of candy to the community.

Youth Pastor Brock Sizelove reported that since he started on September 23 with 11 kids, most of the get-togethers have been ice breaker activities to get acquainted. He will be taking some students to Quaker Haven for Fall Impact and is planning more outside actives for the future. Once again, he voiced his appreciation of the support he has received from the church.

The Mission treasurer’s report was presented with emphasis on the healthy discretionary fund offering. This was approved.

Old Business

New Business
