Hello Friends,
We are quickly coming to that time of year where the turkey’s are getting more stand-offish of the humans, and the sales departments are already advertising Christmas. In the recent years we have seen significant change in the faces that are around Amboy Friends Church. We love that, and it has come to my attention recently that there are some faces that we may not see quite as often. Not to lay a guilt trip on anyone, but just wanted to invite everyone to be a part of our new series “The Plan” where we are going to talk about some of this, and look at how God’s ultimate plan for salvation had you in mind from the very beginning. Because, it’s awful easy to go through the season and miss the very reason for it in the first place. Won’t you consider being a part of the plan?
We also have some dates for services coming up. The Christmas Cantata is going to be December 22nd at 5:30 pm. It will be a great time of music and singing. We hope that you will join us as for this special program. Then we will have our Candle Light Service on Christmas Eve at 7 pm (that’s the 24th in case you need the date, lol).
Pastor Brock has a few special dates as well. The Youth Group will be going to White’s Residential Services for our annual Christmas with Cottage 7. They are planning on fun and games with a devotion as well. They will go on December 1st leaving our facility at 4:30 and returning sometime around 7 pm.
On another note, Missions will be taking contributions for Christmas Gifts for Cottage 7. The gifts for the students will be delivered to them a little closer to Christmas, so there is a little more time to collect funding for them.
The Youth Group will also be putting on a Ping Pong Tournament to raise funds for Camp Scholarships on December 8th. More details are coming together for that, but it looks as though the entry fee will be $10 or so. If you are interested in entering I would suggest that you e-mail Pastor Brock at PastorBrock@AmboyFriends.org to learn more.
