Amboy Friends Monthly Meeting met January 15, 2012, following a soup, salad, and potato bar provided by the Haiti Mission Team. There were 31 members present.
The meeting was opened with a devotional poem and a prayer from Clerk Michael Reynolds.
The November monthly meeting minutes were read and approved.
Since there was no monthly meeting in December, both the December and January treasurer’s reports were reviewed as well as the year-end report. All were approved after a few clarifications.
The pastoral report was given, noting that December was a full month for services, including Tri-County Quarterly Meeting, the Christmas Cantata, a Christmas Eve service, and even a wedding. There was good attendance at these events as well as Sunday services. Pastor Dwight informed us that he plans to attend a seminar in Houston, Texas, in late February but will not miss any Sundays.
Treasurer’s reports were given by the following committees: Missions, Trustees, Farm, and Scrip. The Sunday School treasurer’s report will be presented in February.
New Business
Ministry & Oversight informed the meeting that while Pastor Abby Walker has come home from Australia, it is only through February. She feels called to continue with the ministry she joined there and hopes to return as early as April.
The next meeting will be February 19, following a carry-in meal.
The meeting was dismissed with prayer.
