The May minutes were read and
approved. Ted Hunt confirmed for the Personnel Committee that Nancy Boyer is
leaving the Memorial Service Committee and that Flossie Cantrell will be the new
chair.
The marriage of Devin Dane Vincent
and Chelsea Lou Reynolds on June 6, 2015, was recorded. Parents are Michael and
Amy Reynolds and Roger and Lisa Vincent. Grandparents are John and Carolyn
Norris and Janet Ann and the late Wendell Vincent.
The June treasurer’s report was
presented and approved. A discussion was held concerning the purchase of new
Bibles in the library. These are to be distributed to families in our faith
community who don’t have a Bible in their home. Rather than a miscellaneous
debit, it is believed it should be recorded under Ministry & Oversight or
the library. Clerk Reynolds will discuss this with Treasurer Rhea Dubois. Clerk
Reynolds added that the budget through May is $45,185. Offering income, including
any Edward Jones contributions, is $39,047, leaving a shortfall of $6,132. He
feels we are approximately $4,000 behind where we normally are at this time
each year.
The pastor’s report was presented
and approved. May events included the Barclay College Choir visit, Mother’s
Day, and Pastor Dwight Elliott’s stay in Marion General Hospital. Dwight
announced the passing of Chris Cramer, a child attendee from years ago whom Dwight
had the joy of helping lead to Christ a short time before his passing. He also
shared that Vacation Bible School will be held July 12-16. Dwight encouraged
everyone to contact Director Tiffany Johnson with offers to help in any way we
can. Lastly, Dwight wanted to applaud Amboy Friends for establishing the Quaker
Haven Camp fund that allowed kids to attend camp for only $50 this year.
Old Business
Retreat Recap: The May
minutes mentioned that it was suggested that those who attended the Quaker
Haven church retreat should gather together for a recap of the weekend. This
discussion did not happen at Quaker Haven, so it will take place during the
July meeting.
Internal Missions:
Clerk Reynolds shared that the new committee that is trying to be formed to
serve the internal needs of the church will also be discussed in July.
Committee Report: The
presentation of the M&O report that was prepared for this month was
postponed until July so it can be presented by Chair Scott Dubois.
New Business

Reynolds closed the meeting in prayer. The next meeting will be July 19 following
