Meeting Minutes: March 2015

Amboy Friends Monthly Meeting met March 15, 2015, after a carry-in meal. There were 23 members present.

The February minutes were read and approved.

The March treasurer’s report was presented and approved in the absence of Treasurer Rhea Dubois. Stephanie Fruth asked how much money has been raised for the new keyboard. Clerk Reynolds will check with Rhea and let Stephanie know. Clerk Reynolds added that the budget through February is $18,074 with offering income totaling $11,941, leaving a shortfall of $6,133.

The Pastor’s report was presented and approved. Pastor Dwight Elliott announced that the youth group’s Valentine’s Day dinner raised $400 for kids to attend Quaker Haven Camp. He also shared that the theme for Palm Sunday and Easter will be “Overwhelmed.” Upcoming events include the Barclay College choir performing May 3.

The Youth Pastor’s report was presented and approved. Youth Pastor Brock Sizelove said the past month was very busy with a Super Bowl party, Winter Sneak, and the Valentine’s Day dinner fundraiser. Upcoming events include: a combined lock-in with Sycamore, the youth serving as the test group for Quaker Haven’s Wild Program, and camp registrations beginning.

The Missions Committee’s March treasurer’s report was presented and approved.

Old Business
Quaker Haven Retreat: After some discussion of potential dates handed out by Clerk Reynolds, Kyle Dubois suggested holding the free retreat June 12-14, 2015, and then reserving Friendship Lodge for Memorial Day weekend in 2016 and subsequent years. This will allow the church to participate in the special events held during the holiday weekend and to enjoy Quaker Haven on an annual basis. This was approved. Clerk Reynolds will make the reservations ASAP.

The next meeting will be April 19 following a carry-in meal. Clerk Reynolds closed in prayer.
