FUM Devotional & Requests: Oct. 14-20, 2011

I give you my eyes today, Lord.
Be my vision; show me your tomorrow.
I give you my lips today, Lord.
Be my inspiration; help me tell your story.
I give you my hands today, Lord. I give you my feet.
Be my work, my walk; my every act celebrates your Presence.
I give you my mind today, Lord.
Be my wisdom; bless me with understanding.
I give you myself today, Lord.
Be my guide; show me the way—
Lead me to Jesus’ path.

Requests

• Pray for John Muhanji as he visits among Friends in Iowa Yearly Meeting this week.
• Pray for our monthly meetings and yearly meetings as they seek the will of God for their memberships.
• Praise for a successful gathering of the FUM General Board. It was the first meeting for many members of the board, and the energy for the work of FUM around the world was palpable.
• Pray for all individuals experiencing illness or the effects of aging that God will be their strength. Also remember to hold in prayer their families and caregivers.
• From the Barbers at Friends Boys School in Belize: “Our praise this week is for the three ladies who have come to present AVP (Alternative to Violence Project). They will be presenting all week through Friday. Our prayer request is for the safety of the team while they are here.”
• Pray for CPT Colombia team members, recent delegates, and partners speaking out against the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement. Remember the ordinary Colombians at risk of being displaced as large multinational companies increase their presence after previous free-trade agreements.
• Pray we come to love each other as brothers and sisters, seeing the face of Jesus in their faces when they are different from us.
